Before playing pickleball author Gerrie Lewis jokingly asked her friend Patsy Pelaia “How is it going pickleball Patsy?” It was during the game, that Gerrie Lewis began to conceive an idea for a story. After Gerrie lost the last game to Patsy she rushed home to write “Pickleball Patsy And Her Lucky Pickle”. But it was Patsy who pursued her friend to bring the story to life. Patsy reminded Gerrie that she once was an elementary teacher and she knew kids would love the story and learn some valuable lessons. The Pickleball Patsy's book carries a important message about friends helping friends overcome their obstacles. It also teaches children and adults alike about good sportsmanship. This story is based upon true friendship.
